I saw a FB post recently & it made me pause to think about a few things. Sadly, we are more limited during this covid-19 time, however there are many communication channels open to us…phone, skype, messaging to name just a few.
People can be doing so many things right, eating the good stuff, sleeping well, getting exercise – but still something is missing, one piece of the puzzle.
Modern society can be very insular, if you let it. Often people are lonely, or lack a feeling of belonging. Bottom line they have no community or social connections; they lack a support network.
So how can you get this back? Volunteering is one way or try taking a class or joining a club to learn something new. Even prioritising spending time with people you care about will increase a social connection.
What is for certain, is that this interaction gives you a better quality of life which is often healthier & happier. Getting involved in things you care about, you are interested in, or spending it with people you love; will naturally grow these connections. So set up that skype, or make that phone call 😊
